Dr. Yogesh Manohar Shastri did his MD, Internal Medicine from University of Mumbai, India and his super-specialty DNB (Diplomate of National Board) in Medical Gastroenterology and Endoscopy from the prestigious Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai. 

Subsequently he proceeded to the world-renowned Goethe University Hospital, Frankfurt, Germany for advanced training in advanced therapeutic endoscopy and Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangio-pancreatography (ERCP), for 4 years.

Dr Shastri acquired training in Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) at Institut Paoli-Calmettes, Marseille, France under the supervision Prof. Marc Giovannini and further enhanced his skills in advanced therapeutic EUS under the guidance of Dr Vinay Dhir at BIDS-Global Hospital, Mumbai. 

He was a Consultant at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, Mumbai (one of the largest corporate hospital in India) for 3 years, before coming to UAE. 

Dr. Shastri heads the Department of Gastroenterology and therapeutic endoscopy since 2012. He also chairs the Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) program, the first programs in the private sector in Abu Dhabi and one of the very few in UAE. 

Dr. Shastri has over 20 years of experience in the field of medical gastroenterology, therapeutic endoscopy and hepatology. His areas of interest include endoscopic ultrasound, therapeutic endoscopy, hepatobiliary interventions including cholangioscopies and endoscopic submucosal dissections.

Dr. Shastri has many publications under his belt. He has published about 100 articles including 15 original articles and various book chapters. He not only regularly participates in national and international conferences to keep himself abreast of the latest advances in his field. He also contributes by organizing International Endoscopy and Gastroenterology conferences every year in Abu Dhabi, UAE since last 8 years, which is one of the most important GI meeting of the region.
